As we journey through Advent, we are reminded of the mystery now revealed:
Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). This profound truth assures us that Christ dwells within all believers, transformingus and giving us confidence in the promise of eternal life.
Our sufferings are not meaningless. They shape us into the image of Christ, who endured the cross for our salvation. Though we walk through trials in a world marred by sin, we do so with the indwelling presence ofthe Holy Spirit—our Comforter and Guide (John 14:26).
During the pandemic, many faced uncertainty and isolation. For our family in Japan, the decision to stay or leave brought deep emotional wrestling. In those moments, worship songs like “Yet Not I, But Through Christ in Me” reminded us of the strength and peace found in Christ’s presence.
This Advent, let us reflect on the mystery and miracle of Christ within us. It is not only our hope for future glory but our source of energy and purpose today. As Paul writes,
“For this I toil, struggling with all His energy that He powerfully works within me”
(Colossians 1:29).
May this season renew our excitement to serve Christ, knowing that He is with us, in us, and working through us.
